Mike Miller is a recently retired executive of Nationwide Insurance. Mike is now the President and CEO of Ategrity Specialty Insurance Company headquartered in Scottsdale Arizona. During 2016, Mike served as President of Nationwide Ventures, LLC, a subsidiary of Nationwide. He was responsible for investing in startup operations, joint venture or other companies that are developing leading edge concepts, new ideas or products or new technology that will provide a benefit to other parts of Nationwide.

Mike began his insurance career in 1977 and joined Nationwide in 1985. He previously served as President of Nationwide E & S/Specialty, formally known as Scottsdale Insurance Company, from 2005 – 2015. During those years, Scottsdale moved to the number 2 domestic E & S insurance company in the USA. In 2004, he served as Scottsdale’s EVP of Operations and Administration. He joined Scottsdale in 1995 as VP for Finance and Treasurer. He also spent three years (2000-2003) as SVP for Finance with Nationwide’s Property and Casualty businesses. Mike was often interviewed for many articles on the E & S marketplace and spoke at many industry events.

Mike has served on many non-profit Boards during his Nationwide career. He is currently on the Board and Treasurer of the NAPSLO Education Foundation. He also serves on the Board of Defiance College, Winebrenner Theological Seminary and the Desert Discovery Center in Scottsdale. Previously he served on the Boards of Valley of the Sun United Way, Grand Canyon Chapter of the American Red Cross, Scottsdale Arts and The Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale.

Mike earned a bachelor’s degree from Defiance College and an MBA from Indiana University. His insurance designations include the CPCU, CLU, ASLI, ChFc, ARe and FLMI.
