Mike Tully is a recently retired past Chief Executive Officer of AAA Arizona. He led the creation of a $10B, 22-state holding company and developed numerous centers-of-excellence on behalf of the entity and resulting in Arizona’s 2016 consolidation into a seven-state region creating one of the largest AAA’s in the world with 5.5 million members, $835M in assets, and $3.5B gross revenues.
Mr. Tully’s contributions in the boardroom are equally significant as he has served in a leadership capacity on numerous corporate boards. He’s the current Chair of the National Association of Corporate Director’s (NACD) Arizona Chapter and has recently been nominated to the board for a West coast insurance mutual company. Previously, Mike served as a board member for AAA Life, a $400 million life insurance company and within AAA has served as the Chairman of the AAA Accreditation Commission, AAA Public Affairs Committee and the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety.
As a dynamic and passionate community leader, Mike’s philanthropic and community board service roles include the United Way Board of Directors, ASU Alumni Association, and Sonoran Conservancy Corporate Advisory Board. He has been the past Chairman for The Make-A-Wish (MAW) Foundation of Arizona and held additional board positions with Greater Phoenix Leadership, Greater Phoenix Economic Council, ASU President’s Club, ASU Center for Services Leadership, Financial Executives International, Boys & Girls Club of Scottsdale, and Open Tech Alliance. His community advocacy honors include 2017 St. Patrick’s Day Parade Grand Marshal, MAW Lifetime Compassion Award Recipient, Co-Chairman YPO Scottsdale, American Diabetes Association Father of the Year, and AFP Spirit of Philanthropy Award.
Mr. Tully’s background before AAA spanned numerous leadership positions in manufacturing technology companies as well as a successful entrepreneurial trade-finance startup. He is a CPA and a graduate of the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program, and received his Bachelor of Science and MBA degrees in Finance from Arizona State University.
Mike is known as a passionate family man who notes his most prideful recognition was being awarded the Father of the Year Award by the American Diabetes Association. He resides in Scottsdale, AZ with his wife and two daughters and is an avid hiker, photographer, and traveler.
