Dr. Frandrup is a medical practice owner and administrator with 20 years of experience across the globe. Dr. Frandrup is a graduate of Hamline University and University of Minnesota Medical School. Following graduation, he completed a residency in Anesthesiology. He then served in the United States Air Force completing tours of duty in Iraq and Central America. As an officer stationed in Texas, he was responsible for the procurement of millions of dollars of equipment and the day-to-day fiscal management of operating costs.
After completing his military service, he joined a private practice Anesthesiology group in Wyoming. Subsequently, he started a Pain Management clinic and billing office with $3 million in revenue the first year. The billing company was noted for it’s efficiency, consistency, and service to employees and the community.
Following that success, he took a position as the director of pain management for the Department of Defense in Europe, Middle East, and West Asia. In that role, he improved operational efficiency and return on investment. The pain center was noted as a “Center of Excellence” and became a model for other centers within the DoD. During his tenure, operational efficiency was improved by >50% and millions of taxpayer dollars were saved.
After returning to the United States, he was appointed Chair of Anesthesiology at Loma Linda VHA in Southern California, one of the nations finest VA hospitals. During his time at Loma Linda he was able to reduce in-efficiencies in the Operating Room resulting in a 33% operational improvement. He also greatly expanded pain management care through a business case analysis and was able the re-capture millions of dollars of taxpayer expenditures on purchased care.
Dr. Frandrup was then recruited to Denver, CO where he is currently working to re-envision pain care practices at the Denver VHA. He is also the founder and CEO of Alpria Healthcare, focused on addiction and pain management care across the Rockies.
